5
Low Maintenance
Unlike other exterior cladding materials, such as wood or brick, external render requires minimal maintenance to keep it looking its best. A simple wash with soapy water every few years is usually all that's needed to keep your render looking fresh and clean.
6
Cost Effective
External render is a cost-effective way to upgrade the appearance of your home without breaking the bank. Compared to other exterior cladding options, such as stone or brick, render installation is typically more affordable, making it an attractive choice for homeowners on a budget.
7
Conceal Imperfections
If your home has unsightly cracks or uneven surfaces, external render can provide a smooth, uniform finish that hides these imperfections. This can instantly give your home a more polished and cohesive look, boosting its overall aesthetic appeal.
SFS (Steel Framing System)
Lightweight, galvanized steel framing systems have become a very popular form of fast, cost-effective construction, providing greater design flexibility with a totally dry installation process.
The product is a lightweight cold-rolled galvanised steel framing system. This is available as an infill system, typically fixed between a hot rolled or concrete frame, or an oversail system which is fitted outside the structural frame. These frames then work as carriers for interior wallboards and a variety of exterior cladding options such as insulated render, rainscreen cladding, timber cladding or natural stone.
Woodman Brothers provide high-quality framing systems that are suitable for a wide range of applications in most sectors of construction. Our suppliers systems are structurally proven and rigorously tested to meet the demands of modern construction methods.
1
Strength and Durability
One of the biggest benefits of SFS is its strength and durability of steel. Withstanding extreme weather conditions, such as hurricanes and earthquakes, SFS also has a longer lifespan than wood framing, making it a more cost-effective option in the long run.
2
Precision and Consistency
Manufactured to precise measurements, ensuring that each piece of framing is consistent in size and shape, allows for faster and more accurate installation, resulting in a more efficient construction process overall. Additionally, SFS is less prone to warping, twisting, and shrinkage, which can be common issues with wood framing.
3
Sustainability
Steel is a sustainable material that can be recycled indefinitely, making it an environmentally friendly choice. It also requires less wood than traditional framing, reducing the impact on forests and natural habitats.
4
Design Flexibility
SFS can be used in a variety of building designs, from residential to commercial, and can be customized to fit specific needs. Steel framing is lighter than wood framing, allowing for larger open spaces without the need for support beams or columns. This flexibility allows for more creative and unique designs.
5
Fire Resistance
Steel framing is non-combustible, making it a safer option in the event of a fire. It does not contribute to the spread of flames or smoke and can help contain the fire to a smaller area, reducing damage and potential harm.
EWI (External Wall Insulation)
Modern, thermally efficient External Wall Insulation systems that totally encapsulate the external building structure, wrapping the building in a breathable envelope and maintaining comfortable inside temperatures all year round. EWI systems are the most effective way of insulating a building, with the least risk of cold bridging and internal condensation. They also provide considerably improved cost efficiency, weather protection and visually transformed building aesthetics.
The systems comprise of rigid insulation boards fixed to the outside walls, then middle layers combining basecoats and mesh which give the system strength and impact resistance. This creates a 'thermal jacket', which is then coated with a weather protective, breathable, durable, attractive render finish.
Our EWl systems are fully warranted with a range of design and specification options available across many building types. They are BBA approved, providing a high degree of thermal efficiency and vapor permeability. Each system can also be finished in a wide range of renders and architectural elements.
1
Energy Efficiency
One of the biggest advantages of EWI is the improvement in energy efficiency it can provide. By adding insulation to the exterior of a building, it can help to reduce heat loss and lower energy bills. This is particularly important for older properties that may not have sufficient insulation in the walls. EWI can also help to reduce carbon emissions and make buildings more environmentally friendly.
2
Improved Appearance
EWI with a render finish can transform the look of a building, giving it a modern, fresh appearance. There are a range of different render finishes available, from smooth to textured, and a variety of colours to choose from. This means that buildings can be customised to match individual preferences and styles.
3
Increased property value
Investing in EWI can increase the value of a property, as it makes it more attractive to potential buyers or tenants.
The improved energy efficiency can also be a selling point, as it can result in lower energy bills and a more comfortable living or working environment.
4
Durability and Protection
EWI with a render finish can provide additional protection to buildings, helping to prevent damage from the weather, such as rain and wind. It can also help to prevent cracking and damage to the underlying structure, which can be costly to repair. EWI is a durable solution that can last for many years with little maintenance required.
5
Versatility
EWI with a render finish can be applied to a wide range of building types, including both new and existing structures. It can be used on buildings of any height, from single-storey homes to high-rise apartment blocks. This means that it is a versatile solution that can be used for a range of projects.
Rainscreen and Timber Cladding
Rainscreen and Timber cladding is an effective way to protect a building from moisture and prevent structural damage. It is a type of external cladding that creates an air cavity between the exterior wall and the cladding, which helps to keep the building dry and well-ventilated. Rainscreen cladding has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its many benefits and advantages. Here are some advantages.
Rainscreen cladding has a long lifespan. It is highly durable and can withstand exposure to the elements, making it an ideal choice for buildings in harsh or humid environments. Additionally, rainscreen cladding is resistant to fire and pests, further increasing its longevity.
1
Moisture Protection
The air cavity created by the cladding allows any moisture that penetrates the exterior wall to evaporate, rather than being absorbed by the building materials preventing damage to the structure, such as rot or mould growth.
2
Improved Energy Efficiency
The air cavity created by the cladding provides an extra layer of insulation, improving thermal performance and resulting in lower energy bills and a reduced carbon footprint.
3
Enhanced Aesthetics
There are many different materials and finishes available, allowing architects and builders to create a wide range of looks and styles. Rainscreen cladding can be used to create a modern, sleek look, or a more traditional, natural appearance. This versatility makes it a popular choice for both commercial and residential buildings.
4
Easy Maintenance
The cladding panels can be easily removed and replaced if necessary, without causing damage to the building envelope. This makes it much easier to repair or replace damaged or worn-out cladding panels, which can help to extend the life of the building.
Brickslips
Stick on brick slips are flexible, breathable and lightweight and create a natural, traditional brick appearance to wall surfaces. Manufactured from high quality raw materials using modern machinery and the skills of experienced craftsmen, brick slips can be fitted onto various substrates such as render or EWI to provide the traditional appearance of a brick finished building with the technology of a lightweight acrylic or mineral brick finish. This makes them more cost effective whilst retaining excellent impact performance and weather resistance.
Brick slip rail systems are a decorative and functional cladding solution that are designed to replicate the appearance of traditional bricks. They come in a variety of textures colours and designs to suit various design preferences and fit into the surroundings. The system is supplied direct with pre-installed rails, ready to receive pre-formed clay brick-slips, which are then pointed and sealed on site.
